The Crooked House is under (not so) new ownership, Hi from us both and our family!
It has been over 3 years now since I (Wayne), my brother and family took over the mammoth task of rekindling the light within this notorious landmark. It has been (and still is) a huge task to transform not only the aesthetics of the building but also the offering and clientele.
With reflection a huge amount has been done, the repair list has slowly dwindled and steadily grow again each day, and being the people we are we often forget where the building was some 3 years ago.
Our food offering has grown with the business and we are delighted that we now offer the food we always wanted to a clientel that appreciates this food.
Let us not appear as snobs with our food in fact we are amazed at time that people say our food is posh, it is quite the opposite. We just hope that we do the food justice and offer people something special that they would not do at home. I mean our lasagne is hardly posh however the way we traditionally cook the lasagne takes hours but definately not posh.
In reflection let us tell you a little about ourselves and you will see we are far from posh.
First and foremost would like to say how proud we are of our heritage and that we are born and bred Black Country, we cannot believe the opportunity we have to work and enhance this iconic building which is synonymous with the Black Country.

We can both remember visits to this pub from childhood through to where we could legally drink alcohol with friends with fond memories as I am sure you do too as well as generations before you and we hope that we can ensure that this can continue with you, your friends and your families.
We, like our parents have worked since we were 16 (never too far away) and have always stayed close to our roots. Between us we both have over 20 years of experience within the public and catering trade, using this we hope to continually improve this fantastic pub and restaurant for you our customers.
We are quite hard on ourselves and this business is personal to us both, there is always one of us here if not both and work from 10.00am till close very often till 2.00am 7 days a week. And it is not for the sympathy or monies but in the hope that we can offer something unique and true to us.
The trade itself (much like our general economy) is suffering at the moment and we try to offer as much value for money as possible however providing something special and not your general pub Fayre available from any chain.
And don't get us wrong there are times and place for both and we eat out at these chains.
Our food offering is obviously quite prominent and our ethos and drive to source all local and fresh is foremost on our agenda with us then treating them with the respect they deserve, however we also stock local brewed ales and have lovely warming log burning fires to welcome the thirsty drinker.
We cannot always please everyone, this country and its people are so diverse and sometimes there are mistakes however we are strongly motivated by our customers and would love your input and thoughts in order to improve and build The Crooked House as a real community and family destination.
We look forward to the future and hope to see you all soon.
